Dollar General awards almost $127K, 11K books to ZCS!

The Dollar General Literacy Foundation has awarded our District with a grant of $126,999 that will help us enhance youth literacy in our after-school programming. ZCS operates an extended-day program funded through four 21st Century Community Learning Center federal grants, and this latest grant will supplement current services as well as promote good attendance. In addition, Dollar General will commit to the supply and distribution of approximately 11,000 books to be given to students and their families, helping to create home libraries to promote literacy. The books will be distributed during elementary school events throughout this school year. Click here to learn more about the Dollar General Literacy Foundation.
