Devilettes is a program offered to ZCS students in grades 8-12. Devilettes focuses on jazz dance technique, specializing in various kick series and props. No formal dance experience is needed for those who want to join the Devilettes dance team, just the eagerness and willingness to learn new skills.
Devilettes has been around for almost 60 years. It was founded by Wayne Carpenter, a ZHS French teacher who started the first Dance team in 1966 and taught Devilettes until 2021. In 2022, Lamia Mayle, Intervention Specialist Teacher at ZMS, took over as Director. Lamia was a former Devilette and is a 2016 ZHS graduate.
