Summer lunch program begins June 8th!

Our summer lunch program begins Monday, June 8th, with meals served at various sites around the school district. The program runs Monday through Friday for eight weeks, ending on Friday, July 31st. For more information about the program, including a listing of sites, the schedule of meal deliveries to each one, and daily menus, please visit our Summer Lunch Program website. Please also keep in mind that we will be maintaining COVID-19 social distancing requirements at each site, which means participants do not have to remain at the site to consume their meals.

Cross Country a great athletics option

The ZHS and ZMS cross country teams welcome all interested athletes seeking a sport where you always get to participate. High school runners compete at 3.1 miles (5 kilometers) and middle school runners compete at 2 miles. FinalForms open for 2019-20

FinalForms is open for the 2020-21 school year! All student-athletes entering grades 7-12 — new or returning — must have FinalForms information fully completed before they may participate (fall athletes must complete their files before August 1st). Click here to access our FinalForms information page. Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer available in Ohio

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has approved Ohio to operate Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) to households with children eligible for free or reduced-price meals as a result of the ordered school building closures. Please read this flyer regarding the program (Español aqui).

Devilettes, Color Guard planning for next season

Do you like to dance or twirl?  The ZHS Devilettes and the ZHS Color Guard are starting to organize for their 2020-21 season. If you enjoy being active and part of a group, why not consider becoming part of one of these organizations for this school year? If you are interested in finding out what it takes to be a Devilette, please contact Mr. Carpenter at 740-452-1813 or 740-607-2319. Potential Color Guard members should contact Mrs. Robinson at 740-819-7068 or Mr. Ryan at 740-588-4029. Please leave your name, your grade this fall, and your telephone number.  Your leader will get back to you with the organizational details.

2020-21 Cheer tryouts are here!

Cheerleading tryouts for both ZMS and ZHS have been announced:
n Tryout clinics are June 9, 10 and 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the ZHS Cafetorium.
n Final tryouts are Friday, June 12, starting at 1 p.m. Participants need to wear a white shirt and either black or blue shorts.
n In an effort to create groups of 10 participants or fewer, participants need to register for the tryouts at this link.
n Due to the late notice, tryout material will be posted to the cheerleaders' YouTube page. Also, private tryouts are permitted as long as the participant is registered to this link

Pennington selects school for ROTC program

Jonus Pennington, a member of the Class of 2020, has chosen to attend Ohio State University and participate in OSU's Army ROTC program. Pennington was Cadet Major in JROTC's Blue Devil Battalion at ZHS, and served as Battalion Commander. He was also offered scholarships to join the ROTC programs at Ohio University and Capital University. Jonus was awarded the school's Land Grant Opportunity Scholarship, one of 176 awarded statewide, and the Army ROTC 3-Year Advanced Designee Scholarship – a total of $372,920. After successful completion of the ROTC program, he will be commissioned as a U.S. Army Second Lieutenant in either the Regular Army, Army National Guard, or United States Army Reserves. Jonus plans to major in biology/pre-med with intentions of becoming an orthopedic surgeon.
