John McIntire earns first "High Progress School of Honor" award!

Congratulations to John McIntire Elementary for earning the Ohio Department of Education's annual High Progress School of Honor Award for the first time! It is given to schools receiving an A or a B on the Progress component of the Ohio School Report Card, among other criteria. JME is just one of 71 schools in Ohio to earn it this year!

Zane Grey earns Momentum Award again!

Congratulations to Zane Grey Elementary for earning the Ohio Department of Education's annual Momentum Award for the fourth time! It is given to schools and districts for exceeding expectations in student growth. Just one of 173 schools and 48 districts in Ohio to earn it this year!

Hall of Fame deadline extended!

Class action settlement open for review

The parties in the Doe v. Ohio Department of Education class action have submitted a proposed settlement to the U.S. District Court for approval. The first step in this approval process of the settlement is to provide notice of the proposed settlement to affected students and their parents. Please click here to review this document.

Board meeting date change

Our Board of Education has moved its monthly regular meeting from 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 17th, to 5 p.m. Thursday, December 19th. The site (Administration Center, 956 Moxahala Ave.) remains the same.

Financial statements available

The unaudited general purpose financial statements ending June 30, 2019, for Zanesville City Schools are available for review by the public from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Zanesville City School District administrative office located at 956 Moxahala Avenue.

Our Extracurricular Code of Conduct has been updated. You can read it here. Parental and student-athlete sign-offs on the new version will be at the fall meeting on Weds. Student Wellness Committee

The Zanesville City School District is looking for interested parents and/or community leaders who would be interested in becoming a member of the district Student Wellness Committee. The committee meets four times a year – March, August, October, and December – to review the policy. The purpose of the policy is to make sure our students are being well taken care of in regard to regular physical activity and good nutrition. We want our students to be the best they can be. If you are interested in becoming a part of this endeavor, please contact Bev Guinsler at Zanesville Middle School (740-453-0711) or Vicki Wheeler at the administration office (740-454-9751).
